Information and advice for travelling abroad

Travel Vaccinations

If you are planning a trip abroad you may require vaccinations to protect you.

Grosvenor and St James is a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

Some vaccinations for travel are not provided by the NHS. We provide these vaccinations as a private service to our registered patients.

Some malaria tablets can be obtained without prescription from your local chemist. For those that require a prescription, this is made via a private prescription for which there is a charge.

If you would like your travel vaccinations at the surgery please submit a request via Anima using the Travel Vaccination form. Please submit your request at least 8 weeks prior to your departure date.

The price of your travel vaccinations will be provided to you following submission of your enquiry.

Medication for Fear of Flying

People often come to us requesting that we prescribe diazepam for fear of flying, or to assist with sleep during flights.

After careful review, Grosvenor and St James Medical Practice has adopted a policy not to prescribe benzodiazepines (e.g. diazepam) for fear of flying. This aligns with many other GP practices and national guidelines.
