Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine from July 2026
University starters and students under 25 moving into residential accommodation for the first time this autumn are eligible for a free, two-dose Meningitis B (MenB) vaccine from July 2026.
The course requires two doses. The second dose must be given at least 28 days after the first, and it takes an additional two weeks to build good immunity. That means the whole process takes around 6 weeks from start to finish. Eligible students can book their appointments directly through participating local pharmacies or via the NHS Service. You may also be contacted directly through the NHS App.
