MenB Vaccination Available at Community Pharmacies

From 20 July 2026 to 31 March 2027, eligible young people can receive the MenB (Meningococcal B) vaccine at participating community pharmacies as part of a temporary NHS vaccination programme.

Our practice is not providing this vaccination programme.

Eligible patients should book through the NHS National Booking Service or a participating community pharmacy.

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for a free MenB vaccination if you are:

  • A current Year 13 student, born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, or
  • Under 25 years old (born on or after 21 July 2001) and starting higher education or certain residential further education settings for the first time in Autumn 2026.

Eligible Year 13 students

Eligible Year 13 students can book an appointment through the NHS National Booking Service

The NHS is contacting eligible individuals via the NHS App, text message, or letter, using the contact details it holds.

You do not need to wait for an invitation if you are eligible.

Students Starting University or Residential Further Education

Eligible students entering higher education or residential further education for the first time in Autumn 2026 will not receive an NHS invitation. However, they can arrange their vaccination directly with a participating community pharmacy from 20 July 2026.

Important Information

This programme is separate from the MenB vaccination programme that was introduced in response to the meningococcal outbreak in Kent. The second-dose offer for that outbreak programme ended in general practice on 24 June 2026.
