Overall i had the conversation and received the information i needed. However, it was a struggle at times to feel I was being listened to and the points that i raised were being heard.
My appointment was for an ongoing issue that I've been seeing the same GP about for nearly 3yrs. However, there seemed to be little recollection or recognition of those issues.

The dr and nurse were wonderful - especially the dr - extremely reassuring despite not being able to complete the procedure I felt well looked after but I was having an intimate procedure done and the door kept being opened and closed and knocked on which was unpleasant.

Feeling ill, it's hard to navigate Amina . I put in a request for a sick note and prescription and got an e-mail saying that my request was closed. This caused me distress as my understanding of closed is shut/finished. Do I sent in another request. Someone then phoned and I was invited to an appointment.
When I saw the Dr and explained what had happened in the previous week, whilst she listened she did not even ask how I was now, if I was recovering. She was clearly frustrated when telling me that closed does not mean shut, but actually means, sent to your named Dr. I have no idea how I was supposed to know this. I was given the note and a prescription sent to the pharmacy. I let feeling worse.

Kind and helpful doctor who put my 8 year old at ease immediately. Appointment was last minute so we booked an hour before, so glad to be able to be fitted in, hugely appreciated. Very little waiting time, wonderful experience.

After initially submitting a request for an appointment via Anima to my surgery, the response was efficient and quick. Then offering me a choice of days to choose from at two different surgeries, which gives the patient more flexibility. Once I chose my preferred location and time, the confirmation of the appointment came through very quickly via the NHS app, which is also very user friendly.

Receptionists were approachable and polite on both visits. Waiting area clean. Dr Malik very nice taking the time to explain everything clearly. My first visit in 10 years to a GP and everything was very efficient from getting an appointment for my first visit, to all tests and then receiving results and further actions. Good job by everyone working in a very pressurised system.

Felt unheard and misunderstood and a lack of any compassion. I was unable to speak by the end of the appointment as I was trying to hold back tears and instead of meeting me as a human being who is struggling with difficult symptoms I was met defensively and with no empathy or compassion and o comment was made about my distress and the appointment abruptly ended. I feel it will be very difficult to return given the experiences I have had on two recent visits.
